Australian Open and STH Group launch AO Travel – a unique way to experience an iconic event

Experiencing the Australian Open is about to be taken to a new level of world-class travel and hospitality with the launch today of AO Travel, a partnership between Tennis Australia and STH Australia.
As the official global provider for Australian Open travel and experiences, AO Travel will initially focus on the Australian domestic market for the 2022 event, before opening wider to global travellers when appropriate in 2022 for Australian Open 2023.
Travel packages for every round of Australian Open 2022 are available from today, and uniquely include the ability for travellers to choose from either specially-curated travel packages, or tailor every part of their own self-selected package spanning sessions, ticket types, hotel accommodation and the ability to add on exclusive experiences.
The multi-year partnership sees STH Australia bring the global leadership in Sports Travel and Hospitality of the STH Group to the Australian Open, including their expertise in bringing fans closer to the action than ever before.
David Caldwell, Group General Manager at STH Australia & New Zealand, says the partnership signals a monumental moment in cementing their connection with Australia’s most high-profile sporting events, which currently include international rugby, rugby league and racing.
“We are thrilled to be bringing our expertise and passion for creating everything fans need for a seamless, premium and unforgettable experience to the Australian Open,” said Mr Caldwell. “There’s no doubt that this world-famous event features on the bucket list of any discerning sports fan and we are excited to see AO Travel flourish as global travel re-emerges in 2022 and beyond.”
The extensive experience, flexibility and a highly-collaborative approach of STH Australia all combined to make creating the partnership a rewarding and exciting progression for the event according to Rob Pickering, Director of Ticketing and Travel at Tennis Australia.
“We are excited to launch a long term, innovative and successful global strategic partnership with STH, supported by other partners that will continue to be an important part of the AO as sub agents. The partnership will allow us to jointly focus on the AO travel platform and brand, to not just meet but exceed the expectations of fans to the AO.” Tennis Australia’s Director of Ticketing and Travel Rob Pickering said.
